Can you really take Christ out of Christmas? And what about if your Christmas doesn’t go exactly as you wish? Can you still truly rejoice?
Last Sunday, I was part of a church service where I addressed these questions in the children’s sermon and homily. You can find a link to view the service here (the children’s sermon starts at minute 19, and the homily directly follows).
The children’s message was exciting because it seemed to provide a solution for so much complaining about commercialism taking Christ out of Christmas. It is not possible to take Christ out of Christmas, just like you can’t undo the resurrection of Jesus for the life of the world.
