As the student questions series continues, I’m talking through ideas for conversation inspired from a text we use in Core Theology class at Concordia University-Irvine–Called to Believe by Steven Mueller. In this episode we continue with chapter 12, which discusses the means of grace.
Some thought prompts for discussion:
- I’ve heard it said, “We baptize babies because they can’t believe.” What would be a helpful response to this?
- The phrase “born again” does not occur in the Bible. Is this a surprise?
- The Bible teaches “believer baptism”. What does that mean?
- “You can’t be saved unless you are baptized.” What are we to do with this?
- What about the argument that it’s not possible for Jesus to give us His body and blood to eat and drink?
